I found Makara on Marine Traffic - an AIS web site

https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:10485125

Looks like there is another vessel immediately in front of them. The spot checks aren’t all done at the same time and are no where near constant, so we are seeing a collection of points in time, not a one instant snapshot.

157nm from Opua in New Zealand. 30nm more than Toronto to Kingston. Easy Peasy.

The wind is off the aft quarter, the waves are aligned and also pushing them along - even the current is going their way. The waves are now 6’.

Take heart, it is cloudy ;-)

And its getting a little cooler. The poor thing had to don waterproof socks to keep her feet warm. Ear flap Winter Tilley hat and her Clipper Ocean Racing foulies.

435

So probably in 24 hours or maybe 1-2 more, Makara should be rolling into Opau. She is thinking of coming back to Canada on the 9th instead of the 16th - still she will have 3-4 days as tourist there.

So, the no drama tour continues.

More later.
