Good morning Oh! Team. Well I am starting to have more confidence in the PHRF rating system. If you sail a good race, you place higher than those that didn’t sail a good race. For us, well, it didn’t go so well.

Rebel has elected to move to the white fleet this series. So we are down to racing against one boat that is the same length as us, Lorelli and 3 boats that are 21-22 feet long.

Crew

SJE/LKE/JV/DV/JN and a mystery guess Tyler, friend of DV and JN.

Tyler was ballast and did what he was told and was quite pleasant. We needed the weight on the rail.

9-14 knots pretty steady from the SW. Some gusts that peaked at 14 true. Course was short, Start - 1 - 3 - 1 - 3 - Finish. You can see the race took us 46 minutes.

We had a good start, with speed at the line at the gun. Se rolled the Ranger 22 (we had better roll the Ranger) and we climbed over top of the CS 30 Lorelli. The GC21 started near the pin and headed to shore - we felt the wind was going to be soft there and we were right.

We tacked to port shortly after the start and headed to the windward short (right) where our earlier testing indicated there was more breeze.

All this worked well.
