Steve was stricten with a cold/flu something that made rcinng impossible.

Matt Tootle and Noah Blower did an outstanding job delivering the boat from PEYC to Belleville. These guys are my go to delivery crew! Thanks guys. ;-)

Course

BQYC to PEYC straight shot.

Weather

Perfect North wind moved east as predicted. So closehaul/reach along the top and full spinnaker downwind run with a few gybes on the long reach into PEYC.

At the top of the pack - it was CLOSE racing (in a PHRF sorta way).

Lickety, in Flying Sailing, corrected out to 1 minute behind us over 5 hours. Both of us were sandwiched between to J80s. Red Jacket and Rebel were 90 corrected seconds apart.

Race Review

I wasn’t aboard so I don’t have a briefing. But Anik filled in the gap. Here is his text - THANKS ANIK

Thanks for a wonderful sail. Great crew work and communications. My old artifact of a GPS came in handy. We had a great start with Sue’s leadership.

Owning the pin and being the windward boat for most of the race gave us all the options.

Lynn had tremendous focus on the helm. We went from close hauled to reach how many times? Noah Blower was quiet and effective - skirting so many times - yes, when we tacked but also all the times we went from reach to close hauled on the port tack through big bay and the tight gap. Mark Osterman was amazing on the guy - bumping it forward and working with me when the chute was collapsing. He also put in double duty with Sue on the main when she was also working the bow. Yes - we did all that today and more. I’m so happy we sailed.

Sorry we missed you Steve - thanks for your tremendous support on the phone - not kidding.

The Katie Gray is almost always fun but as Steve said, today will be a sail to be remembered. Thank you!
