Phase: Downwind | Owner (6-person): Mast
Downwind the Mast person’s primary job is radar: face aft, watch the sky and the fleet behind, and call the puffs and shifts coming down the course — “puff, three four… pressure left…”. The calls cue the whole downwind team: Helm picks the mode, Trimmer squares the pole, Tactician weighs the gybe. Between calls: keep the twings/afterguy leads clean and watch for the chafe a following sea hides.
