Phase: Downwind | Owner (6-person): Bow

Downwind, the pole-height trim is the Bow’s: topping lift and downhaul so the pole rides level to the water with the two clews at even heights, lifting it in the lulls and easing it down as pressure builds and the pole dips toward the waves. Adjust on the sheet trimmer’s calls (Trim the spinnaker sheet), and twing down both sides in heavy air to stop the kite rocking (Aliens’ trick).
