Changing your attendance
You can set your own attendance on any event — add yourself, change your mind, or say you can’t make it.
Do it
- Open the event (from the calendar, or My events).
- If you’re not signed in, tap Sign in — see Signing in to the calendar.
- Under Your attendance, tap one of:
- Confirmed — you’re definitely sailing.
- Attending — you plan to be there.
- Maybe — not sure yet (shows with a
?). - Can’t make it — you were going, now you’re not (shows struck through in red).
You can change again any time — nothing is final.
Notifications
Two tick-boxes under the buttons control who gets an email about your change:
- Notify admin (on by default) — Steve is told.
- Notify crew member (off by default) — the email goes to you (the person making the change).
The email links straight back to that event.
What you can and can’t do
- You can change your own row only. You can’t set someone else’s status, and you can’t remove a record entirely — “Can’t make it” keeps a record (a red strike-through), which Steve prefers for the history. Only Steve can remove a row.
- If you were never listed on an event, “Can’t make it” does nothing (there’s nothing to withdraw) — use Attending/Maybe instead.
